[cheering and applause] MUIRGEN: Thank you!
What a reception!
Thank you so much and welcome to the beautiful Helix in Dublin.
We are so excited to be celebrating Celtic Woman's 20th anniversary with you all here this evening.
[cheering and applause] And it goes without saying, we are just so thrilled and honored to be joined on stage by founding members of Celtic Woman, including the beautiful Mav.
MAV: Aw!
[cheering and applause] Thanks a million, Muirgen!
I mean, it's, it's unbelievable to be back here, standing on the same stage that we were on 20 years ago, reconnecting with old dear friends.
I have the great pleasure of introducing you to our newest Celtic Woman-- I know you're going to completely fall in love with her-- and she is the wonderful Emma Warren.
[cheering and applause] When it rains it pours but you didn't even notice it ain't rainin' anymore It's hard to breathe when all you know is the struggle of stayin' above the rising waterline Well, the sky has finally opened the rain and wind stopped blowin' But you're stuck out in the same old storm again You hold tight to your umbrella well, darlin' I'm just trying to tell ya That there's always been a rainbow Hangin' over your head If you could see what I see you'd be blinded by the colors yellow, red, and orange and green and at least a million others So tie up the boat take off your coat and take a look around 'Cause the sky has finally opened the rain and wind stopped blowing But you're stuck out in the same old storm again You hold tight to your umbrella well, darling I'm just trying to tell ya that there's always been a rainbow hangin' over your head Ooh ooh Ooh ooh Oh, tie up the boat take off your coat and take a look around everything is alright now 'Cause the sky has finally opened the rain and wind stopped blowing But you're stuck out in the same old storm again Let go of your umbrella 'cause, darling I'm just trying to tell ya that there's always been a rainbow hangin' over your head Yeah, there's always been a rainbow hangin' over your head Mmm It'll all be alright [cheering and applause] Sing to me softly your tales of woe I'll cradle you closely I won't let go I'll speak to you gently of what I know don't you cry Lay your head down, darling the moon is sailing by The stars are softly shining The tide is full and high We'll fly to the edge not as distant as it seems And maybe we'll find there the key to your dreams So you just lay your head down darling Sleep now, la, la, la, la, la Winds blow, rains fall but it's warm by the fire's light Hush, don't you see you're here with me And there's dawn at the end of the night Lay your head down, darling the moon is sailing by The stars are softly shining The tide is full and high We'll fly to the edge not as distant as it seems And maybe we'll find there the key to your dreams So you just lay your head down, darling Sleep now, la, la, la, la, la Lay your head down Lay your head down [cheering and applause] [cheering and applause] One early morn as I walked forth by the margin of Lough Leigh The sunshine dressed the trees in green and the summer bloomed again I left the town and wandered on through fields all green and gay And whom shall I meet but a colleen sweet at the dawning of the day No cap or cloak this maiden wore her neck and feet were bare Down to the ground in ringlets fell her glossy golden hair A milking pail was in her hand she was lovely, young, and gay She wore the palm from Venus bright by the dawning of the day [choir chanting] [choir chanting] [choir chanting] On a mossy bank I sat me down with the maiden by my side With gentle word he courted her asked her to be his bride She said, "Young man," "don't bring me blame" and swiftly turned away And the morning light was shining bright at the dawning of the day [cheering and applause] [applause] Many nights we prayed with no proof anyone could hear In our hearts a hopeful song we barely understood Now, we are not afraid although we know there's much to fear We were moving mountains long before we knew we could There can be miracles when you believe Though hope is frail it's hard to kill Who knows what miracles you can achieve?
When you believe somehow you will You will, when you believe In this time of fear when prayer so often proves in vain Hope seems like the summer bird too swiftly flown away Yet now I'm standing here my heart's so full, I can't explain Seeking faith and speaking words I never thought I'd say Eeee eeee There can be miracles when you believe Though hope is frail it's hard to kill Who knows what miracles you can achieve?
When you believe somehow you will You will, when you believe Hmm hmm hmm Oh oh And when you're blinded by your pain Can't see the way, get through the rain A small but still resilient voice says help is very near There can be miracles when you believe Though hope is frail it's hard to kill Ooh ooh Who knows what miracles you can achieve?
When you believe somehow you will now you will You will, when you believe Oh oh You will, when you believe [cheering and applause] [applause] She's running wild, running free He is cryin' out her name He's catchin' all her dreams as they're driftin' astray River, hold her in your faithful arms As you sail her away toward the sea Sionann dances through the wind Sionann how she curves and gently bends I heard her singing did you hear her laugh again?
Sionann She waltzes with the moon She rises with the sun How she washes over him And he says it feels like love River, hold her in your faithful arms As you sail her so far away from me Sionann dances through the wind Sionann how she curves and gently bends I heard her singing did you hear her laugh again?
Sionann He moves softly like the breeze Below a veil of quiet rain He feels her whisper passing by Above her river grave Sionann are you dancing with the wind?
Sionann with your curves and gentle bends He stands beside her and he lets her water in Sionann Sionann Sionann River, carry him [cheering and applause] [cheering and applause] Se tu fossi nei miei occhi per un giorno Vedresti la bellezza che Piena d'allegria Io trovo dentro gli occhi tuoi Ignaro se magia o realt Se tu fossi nel mio cuore per un giorno Potreste avere un'idea Di ci che sento io Quando m'abbracci forte a te E petto a petto, noi Respiriamo insieme Protagonista del tuo amor Non so se sia magia o realt Se tu fossi nell mia anima un giorno Sapresti cosa sento in me Che m'innamorai Da quell'istante insieme a te E ci che provo Solamente amore Da quell'istante insieme a te E ci che provo Solamente amore [cheering and applause] [cheering and applause] [cheering and applause] [applause] I know my love by his way of walking And I know my love by his way of talking And I know my love dressed in a suit of blue And if my love leaves me what will I do?
And still she cried, "I love him the best" "And a troubled mind" "sure can know no rest" And still she cried "Bonny boys are few" "And if my love leaves me" "what will I do?
" There is a dance house in Maradyke And there my true love goes every night He takes a strange girl upon his knee Well, now don't you think that that vexes me?
And still she cried, "I love him the best" "And a troubled mind" "sure can know no rest" And still she cried, "Bonny boys are few" "And if my love leaves me" "what will I do?"
If my love knew I can wash and wring If my love knew I can sew and spin I'd make a coat of the finest kind But the want of money sure leaves me behind And still she cried, "I love him the best" "And a troubled mind" "sure can know no rest" And still she cried, "Bonny boys are few" "And if my love leaves me" "what will I do?
" I know my love is an arrant rover I know he'll wander the wild world over In dear old Ireland, he'll no longer tarry An American girl he's sure to marry And still she cried, "I love him the best" "And a troubled mind" "sure can know no rest" And still she cried, "Bonny boys are few" "And if my love leaves me" "what will I do?
" And still she cried, "I love him the best" "And a troubled mind" "sure can know no rest" And still she cried, "Bonny boys are few" "And if my love leaves me" "what will I do?"
"What will I do?"
[cheering and applause] [cheering and applause] Tread lightly, she is near Underneath the snow Speak gently she can hear The daisies grow All her bright golden hair Tarnished with rust She that was young and fair Fallen to dust Tread lightly, she is near Under the snow Speak gently, she can hear The daisies grow [applause] [applause] [clapping rhythmically] [clapping rhythmically] [cheering and applause] [cheering and applause] MAIRAD: Oh, my goodness, I don't know if you felt that as much as we all felt that, but there was just so much energy!
Woo!
[laughs] [applause] Oh, my goodness, how special is it to have our very, our lovely, very own Mirad Nesbitt back with us sharing this stage.
I watched you from the side of the stage for six years-- I'm gonna get emotional-- and to see you do your thing again tonight was just so special.
[cheering and applause] Woo!
[laughs] [applause] So we're gonna take a wee walk, down to our islands.
This next song was written in the North of Ireland in a wee place called Derry... [cheering and applause] ...which happens to be where I'm from.
It has traveled all over the world with us from, from the very beginning of Celtic Woman, this song has been a part of who we are.
People resonate with this song.
They feel it.
They feel it in their very core.
And I, I truly believe that is the essence of why Celtic Woman is, is here tonight on its 20th anniversary.
This is "Danny Boy."
[cheering and applause] [applause] Oh, Danny boy the pipes, the pipes are calling From glen to glen and down the mountainside The summer's gone and all the roses falling It's you, it's you, must go and I must bide But come ye back when summer's in the meadow or when the valley's hushed and white with snow It's I'll be here in sunshine or in shadow Oh, Danny boy, oh, Danny boy I love you so But when ye come and all the flowers are dying And I am dead as dead I well may be You'll come and find the place where I am lying and kneel and Say an Ave there for me And I shall hear though soft you tread above me And all my grave will warmer, sweeter be For you will bend and tell me that you love me And I shall sleep in peace Until you come to me [cheering and applause] [cheering and applause] [applause] Amazing grace how sweet the sound that saved a wretch like me I once was lost but now I'm found was blind but now I see 'Twas grace that taught my heart to fear and grace my fears relieved How precious did that grace appear the hour I first believed Through many dangers toils and snares we have already come 'Twas grace that brought us safe thus far and grace will lead us home And grace will lead us home Amazing grace how sweet the sound that saved a wretch like me I once was lost but now am found Was blind but now I see Was blind but now I see I see [cheering and applause] [cheering and applause] [applause] A str mo chro when you're far away from the home that you'll soon be leaving And it's many a time by night and by day That your heart will sorely be grieving For the stranger's land may be bright and fair And rich in its treasures golden You'll pine, I know for the long ago And the love that is never olden A str mo chro in the stranger's land There is plenty of wealth and wailing Where gems adorn the great and the grand There are faces with hunger a-paling That road, it is toilsome hard to tread Lights of the city will blind you Oh, turn a str to the eastern shore And the ones you're leaving behind you A str mo chro in the evening mist over mountains and seas falling Oh, turn the throng and then you list Then maybe you'll hear me a-calling The sound of a voice that I'll sorely miss Somebody's quickly returning Arn, arn won't you come back soon To the love that's always burning That road, it is toilsome hard to tread Lights of the city will blind you Arn, arn won't you come back soon To the ones you're leaving behind you And the ones that'll always guide you [cheering and applause] Tir abhaile ri Tir abhaile ri Tir abhaile ri Mhaire Tir abhaile ri might drift away I've been telling old stories singing songs That make me think about where I've come from That's the reason why I seem so far away today Let me tell you that I love you That I think about you all the time Caledonia, you're calling me now I'm going home But if I should become a stranger Know that it would make me more than sad Caledonia's been everything I've ever had Now I have moved and I've kept on moving Proved the points that I needed proving Lost the friends that I needed losing Found others on the way I've kissed the fellas and left them crying Stolen dreams, yes, there's no denying I've traveled far sometimes with conscience flying Somewhere with the wind Let me tell you that I love you And I think about you all the time Caledonia, you're calling me now I'm going home But if I should become a stranger Know that it would make me more than sad Caledonia's been everything I've ever had Now I'm sitting here before the fire The empty room, the forest choir The flames have cooled don't get any higher They've withered, now they've gone But I'm steady thinking my way is clear And I know what I will do tomorrow When hands have shaken the kisses flowed Then I will disappear Let me tell you that I love you That I think about you all the time Caledonia, you're calling me now I'm going home But if I should become a stranger Well, then it would make me more than sad Caledonia's been everything I've ever had Caledonia's been everything I've ever had Caledonia's been everything I've ever had [cheering and applause] LISA: Thank you.
[cheering and applause] Thank you.
Thank you so much, so much.
It's been...
It's hard to believe, but it's been 20 years since we actually took to this incredible Celtic Woman journey.
It's been a way more emotional night than I think any of us were prepared for.
And we're so glad that you're here with us to share this journey tonight.
[applause] [cheering and applause] [applause] TARA: Well, it's nearly time to say goodbye, but before we do... [audience booing] ...we would love to acknowledge all of the incredibly talented women who have performed with Celtic Woman over its 20 years.
[cheering and applause] This next one is for you.
[applause] When I am down and, oh, my soul so weary When troubles come and my heart burdened be Then, I am still and wait here in the silence Until you come and sit awhile with me You raise me up so I can stand on mountains You raise me up to walk on stormy seas I am strong when I am on your shoulders You raise me up to more than I can be [applause] You raise me up so I can stand on mountains You raise me up to walk on stormy seas I am strong when I am on your shoulders You raise me up to more than I can be You raise me up so I can stand on mountains You raise me up to walk on stormy seas I am strong when I am on your shoulders You raise me up to more than I can be You raise me up so I can stand on mountains You raise me up to walk on stormy seas I am strong when I am on your shoulders You raise me up to more than I can be You raise me up to more than I can be [cheering and applause] CHLO: Thank you so much!
[cheering and applause] Thank you so much.
So, wherever you are watching this in the world, and if you've been a part of our journey in any way, we thank you from the bottom of our hearts for 20 years of music, of friendships, and memories that will last a lifetime.
We love you all.
Good night and God bless you all.
Thank you so much.
[cheering and applause] [applause] Of all the money that e'er I had I spent it in good company And all the harm that e'er I did Alas it was to none but me And all I've done for want of wit To mem'ry now I can't recall So fill to me the parting glass Good night and joy be to you all So fill to me the parting glass And gather as the evening falls And gently rise and softly call Good night and joy be to you all Of all the comrades that e'er I had They're sorry for my going away And all the sweethearts that e'er I had they had wished me one more day to stay But since it fell into my lot That I should rise and you should not I'll gently rise and softly call Good night and joy be to you all So fill to me the parting glass And gather as the evening falls And gently rise and softly call Good night and joy be to you all [applause] Ah ah ah ah ah ah Ah ah ah ah ah Ah ah ah ah ah ah Ah ah ah ah ah Since it fell into my lot That I should rise and you should not I'll gently rise and I'll softly call Good night and joy be to you all Fill to me the parting glass And gather as the evening falls And gently rise and softly call Good night and joy be to you all Fill to me the parting glass And gather as the evening falls And gently rise and softly call Good night and joy be to you all Good night and joy be to you all [cheering and applause] [applause]
