PBS Wisconsin Education is excited to announce the launch of its aka Teacher podcast, featuring local educator Shelton Evans, lead facilitator for natural circles of support at Madison Metropolitan School District and McFarland School District, as one of four co-hosts.

The annual University of Wisconsin Varsity Band Concert returns to PBS Wisconsin with all the spirit and spectacle fans have come to expect! The UW Varsity Band Concert 2022 will premiere on PBS Wisconsin 8 p.m. Monday, Sept. 26.

New season of Why Race Matters available now

Why Race Matters, a digital series elevating issues of importance affecting Wisconsin’s Black communities, returns to PBS Wisconsin with four all-new episodes. The new season starts streaming weekly with the premiere installment released Sept. 12 on whyracematters.org and on the free PBS Video App, streaming devices and Smart TVs.

To help welcome refugee families from Afghanistan, Ukraine and other countries, Wisconsin residents and quilters from across the state can help PBS Wisconsin Education’s collaboration with resettlement agencies and other community partners to fill and distribute 500 backpacks to recently resettled children in Wisconsin.

Madison’s own internationally best-selling author Jennifer Chiaverini is the author of the “Elm Creek Quilts” series and ties her love of quilts and Wisconsin into many of her books. She will discuss her quilts and novels at The Great Wisconsin Quilt Show, Sept. 8-10 at the Alliant Energy Center in Madison, and an exhibit of 18 quilts from Chiaverini’s novels will be on display.
