Bolz Young Artist Competition Finale to Be Broadcast on WPT Feb. 2, Live Coverage Jan. 29 on WPT.org and WPRMembers of the public are invited to attend the free live performance in Madison
Four of Wisconsin's most talented young musicians will perform in concert with the Madison Symphony Orchestra (MSO) as Wisconsin Public Television (WPT) and Wisconsin Public Radio (WPR) offer broadcast coverage of Wisconsin Young Artists Compete: The Final Forte. Full coverage of the concert will air on WPT 8 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 2, with live broadcasts of the concert 7 p.m. Friday, Jan. 29 via livestream on wpt.org and on WPR.
WPT will also broadcast an encore presentation 12 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 7.
The Final Forte features pianists Audrianna Wu of Madison and Liam Mayo of Green Bay, violinist Tabby Rhee of Brookfield, and marimbist Robert Rockman of Sun Prairie in performance with Music Director John DeMain and the MSO as they vie for top honors in the 2016 Bolz Young Artist Competition. Christopher O'Riley, renowned classical pianist and host of National Public Radio's From the Top, and Lori Skelton, host of WPR's Afternoon Classics and Wisconsin Classical, will co-host the event.
Each finalist will perform a selection from a concerto for a panel of judges, who will award a range of scholarships to the competitors.
