Gracie Skogman:
We, on our own, provide emergency grants to women through Wisconsin Right to Life. But our main legislative goal in the past session and going into the next session will be increased funding for pregnancy resource centers. They are the front lines. They have seen a massive increase in clients post the overturning of Roe. So again, these are women who want to carry their pregnancies to term, they want to have their children, but are facing so many heartbreaking situations. And it's often those centers that step in to provide that safe housing, to provide ultrasounds, diapers, the list goes on and on. But, you know, these are all nonprofits that are working so hard around the clock to raise the funds to be able to support these women, and we want Wisconsin to join the list of over a dozen states nationwide that do provide funding to pregnancy resource centers.
...
I have never loved doing pro-life work more than now, expecting my first child, because it makes it so real when you think about all of the things that women face when they become pregnant. There are so many uncertainties, so many ways that I have needed support, whether it's in the workplace, whether that's in my faith community, my family, so it makes me very aware of the need to provide that same care and support to other women here in Wisconsin.
