"Wisconsin Pride," a rainbow collage of historic portraits

As part of Northwoods Pride 2023, see Wisconsin Pride Part One: Hidden Histories, followed by a facilitated community discussion. The all-new film brings hidden LGBTQ+ stories forward, and reconsiders our state’s history in that light.

6 p.m. – Watch Wisconsin Pride Part One: Hidden Histories
7 p.m. – Facilitated community discussion
Popcorn will be provided!

Wisconsin Pride: Part One explores how diversity in sexual orientation, gender identity and expression are a normal part of the human experience. The documentary opens with Indigenous people prior to Wisconsin’s European colonization, and continues through the 19th and 20th centuries, including a story about Wally Jordan from Rhinelander.

This half of the documentary considers how being different from the mainstream could provide a unique perspective that enabled LGBTQ+ people to contribute in ways others could not imagine.

While an RSVP is not required to attend, please register here for free.

Come back the following day, July 15, to Nicolet College to enjoy more Northwoods Pride activities!

Thank you to the Nicolet College Rainbow Hodags for their collaboration on this fantastic, free event.
