Wisconsin Cherry Berries on a Cloud
What was the biggest surprise during your baking journey? Did you use any unconventional approaches? What did you learn along the way? Tell us about it!
I took a family favorite dessert (Cherry Berries on a Cloud) and turned it from one thick layer of meringue into three thinner ones in the shape of Wisconsin. The dessert consists of layers of baked meringue, whipped cream/cream cheese/marshmallows, and a mixture of cherry pie filling and berries. This took more time and effort than the traditional recipe, but was totally worth it! Yum!
How did you add a Wisconsin twist to your flavors or decoration?
I decided to fully embrace the Wisconsin twist for this challenge! I piped the meringue layers in the shape of Wisconsin, used red and white to represent the Wisconsin Badgers, and went out in the garden to use our own farm fresh eggs for the meringue and fresh black caps, raspberries and mint. I went the extra step and used a black cap to mark home within the shape of our state.
