Cranberry Hot Cross Buns – sweet buns made with dried cranberries, lemon zest and nutmeg, with a powdered sugar glaze cross on top. The recipe was scaled down a little, so I only made 16 buns, but they are so good I wish I had 24!
Now that you’ve survived this challenge, what words of wisdom can you share?
Trust your baking instincts. I used about 3/4 cup less flour and less proofing time than the recipe called for, but they turned out great!
Tell us about how you added a Wisconsin twist.
I substituted dried cranberries for the traditional currants. I figured it was fitting because Wisconsin is the nation's leading cranberry producer!
