Give your dessert a clever name – and tell us about your recipe.

Almond Torte Cake. This cake contains only almonds, egg whites, sugar and almond extract. I was worried that it might taste bland or "eggy," but it is quite tasty! It would be great served with some summer berries on top.

What was the biggest surprise during your baking journey? Did you use any unconventional approaches? What did you learn along the way? Tell us about it!

This gluten-free dessert does not have the texture of a cake, but is delicious.

How did you add a Wisconsin twist to your flavors or decoration?

My daughter was busy today practicing her dessert recipe for the Dane County 4-H Fair. Her recipe used egg yolks, so I was happy to use her egg whites for my recipe. No waste!
