How did this baker brighten our summer?
Every baking story from Stephanie documented her meticulous research when faced with something she had never tried before. One of our most industrious bakers, if she lacked a tool — a mold during Puddings Week, for example — she scoured antique and thrift stores fo find one. If her rural area didn’t have an ingredient, she improvised. She employed her garden and her gusto to get things just right.
Our favorite Wisconsin Twist (pictured)!
Turning beer and cheese into bread is a Wisconsin miracle of biblical proportions. And Stephanie delivered it with her Eight Strand Plaited Loaf in Week 2. Her baking story plot builds to reach a dramatic climax — the glorious moment when she dumps an entire tub of Old Fashioned Beer Cheddar Snack Spread made in Mayville, Wisconsin right into the dough. Cue the choir!
A choice quote or piece of Star Baker wisdom:
Our favorite bit of advice from Stephanie, which we believe is universal: “Make extra icing!”
