What was the biggest surprise during your baking journey? Did you use any unconventional approaches? What did you learn along the way? Tell us about it!
My biggest surprise was how many eggs I’ve blown through this week. I wanted to do Lemon & Lime Curds for this as well, but after making the Creme Caramel, Torte & Meringues… I had no eggs left from my chickens! I also was reminded how careful you have to be with meringue. Mine are slightly overbaked (cracks) and got a little weepy from the sugar not fully dissolving into the egg whites. They were nice and crunchy on the outside and chewy on the inside, though.
How did you add a Wisconsin twist to your flavors or decoration?
I did green and gold in honor of our beloved Green Bay Packers.
