Give your dessert a clever name – and tell us about your recipe.
The name for my dessert would have to be "A taste of Wisconsin Roulade." My recipe was a chocolate sponge, which was mainly Wisconsin eggs with a buttercream filling made with Wisconsin butter. And I of course had to put some decorations on the roulade that are in the shapes of Wisconsin, cows and cheese.
What was the biggest surprise during your baking journey? Did you use any unconventional approaches? What did you learn along the way? Tell us about it!
I never put a design on a Roulade before, so seeing how well the design looked when it came out was a huge surprise. All the designs turned out super cute and I am very pleased with the cows on the cake.
How did you add a Wisconsin twist to your flavors or decoration?
I used a Wisconsin twist in my decoration by making the design Wisconsin themed by adding cows, cheese and little Wisconsins to the outside. My sponge contained mainly Wisconsin eggs and of course lots of Wisconsin butter in the buttercream frosting.
