The fact that the cake actually looks somewhat like a checkerboard was a wonderful surprise.

Describe how you added a Wisconsin twist to your creation.

I used Wisconsin butter, milk, eggs and sour cream. The hickory nuts used for decoration were gathered from my Aunt and Uncle’s Century dairy farm. The biggest connection to Wisconsin is that is for a Wisconsin born and raised birthday boy!
