Layered Meringue Dessert

Dark Magic – dark red berries only this week! Wild black raspberries, fresh from the yard, and black cherries soaked in a few shots of brandy were the center of this dish. I used four layers of meringue broken up with fresh berry whipped cream and sprinkled with the berries mentioned earlier.
What was the biggest surprise during your baking journey? Did you use any unconventional approaches? What did you learn along the way? Tell us about it!
I have never made meringues before, and… well… I didn't know what to expect from the built structure, and building it was interesting, to say the least!
How did you add a Wisconsin twist to your flavors or decoration?
Wild black raspberries from our yard and black cherries in the spirit of summers in Door County.
