Wisconsin Best Mini Meat Pot Pies
The key to this week’s challenge is your creative presentation. Describe your display.
I used my favorite pie crust recipe. The filling is ground beef, bacon, potato, green beans, onion garlic and a dry mushroom soup base. My taste testers said that it resembled a pasty. I arranged the pie crust in a muffin pan and filled the crust full with filling. Then, I cut a circle for the top and used egg wash for the top crust. The filling creation was my own idea and I did not use a recipe.
It’s Wisconsin Week, so you need to showcase a super Wisconsin twist to your recipe and/or arrangement. Tell us about it.
The ingredients for the filling are from Wisconsin except the mushroom soup base. I used a fork to put a "W" on each pie crust, but it did not show up very good. The consensus was that the mini pies were delicious. The pottery dish used to display the mini pies was hand made in Wisconsin.
