Maple Bourbon Chocolate Tea Cakes – Can you see a theme developing in my bakes this year?! I loosely followed Paul Hollywood's recipe, but made my own twists and turns throughout!
Would you describe yourself as a rogue baker, or do you strictly adhere to the recipe?
Typically I am a rogue all the way! I wish I would've adhered to the recipe a little more in this bake as I did not achieve my desired results, but oh well! Live and learn and do it better next time!
Tell us about how you added a Wisconsin twist to your creation.
I added my old friend J. Henry and Sons bourbon to my chocolate shell and Wisconsin made maple syrup to my marshmallow filling. The chocolate didn't turn out great, the bourbon seemed to seize my chocolate making it impossible for it to line the cups properly. The marshmallow filling however…HOME RUN! I'm glad I had some extra; I think I'll make something else and use it!
