Very Cherry Old Fashioned Strudel – This is a delicious Cherry Strudel with a Brandy Old Fashioned Twist! It is made with homemade pastry and cherries hand-pitted by my kids! I added an orange zest and bitters flavor boost to my cream cheese filling, and a shot or two of brandy to my cherry filling!
What was the biggest surprise during your baking journey? Did you use any unconventional approaches? What did you learn along the way? Tell us about it!
Homemade pastry is always such a struggle for me! I get so impatient towards the end and rush getting it in the oven! These strudels could've used a rest in the fridge before baking! I must remember this next time and slow down! No matter, however! These strudels turned out amazing with a very sweet cherry filling enhanced by the flavor of the brandy. A fun dessert or weekend brunch addition for sure!
