Uncle Kent’s Christmas Stollen – The recipe I used is the recipe my Great Uncle Kent’s mom made for him at Christmas when he was growing up. The recipe made four loaves, so I was able to share with several people. The best, though, was taking a loaf to Uncle Kent and him saying, "Wow! This tastes just how I remember my mom's!” I think thats the best compliment I could get.
Now that you’ve survived this challenge, what words of wisdom can you share?
I tried four different shapes. I did the braided wreath, a plait, a round and an oblong. I think next time I will do all round and/or oblong. I liked how the inside turned out better.
Tell us about how you added a Wisconsin twist.
Dried Wisconsin cranberries, cherries and, of course, butter.
