Chocolate Cherry Delight – My sister is trying a gluten-free diet, so I am doing this torte cake for her. I used King Arthur gluten-free flour, and it worked great. I filled my torte with delicious cherry mousse. Coffee and buttermilk are my secret ingredients for the great taste of my gluten-free chocolate cake.
What was the biggest surprise during your baking journey? Did you use any unconventional approaches? What did you learn along the way? Tell us about it!
That gluten-free cake is as good as normal cake. We tried using coffee in the chocolate cake so it would make the chocolate cake taste more rich, and it did!
How did you add a Wisconsin twist to your flavors or decoration?
Wisconsin cherries, buttermilk, and lots of heavy whipping cream. The cherries in the mousse are from Steffens Cherry Orchard in Fort Atkinson. My grandpa has been taking me there since I was three years old, so this is my eighth year.
