How did this baker brighten our summer?
A sense of play protruded from all of Madelyn’s submissions. Her use of color, in particular, astonished us — from her “Taste of Rainbow” cake to her black (really deep blue and red combined together) and white Designer Fruit Tart, to her deep rose and red “Summer Delight” Fraisier Cake.

SPRINKLES!!! It doesn’t matter how old we get — when our inner child sees a sweet treat covered in sprinkles we get giddy. And that’s just what we got upon first sight of Madelyn’s “You Said It All” cake for Wisconsin Week. A cloud-like cake covered in colorful confetti, Madelyn’s cake says “Wisconsin” in red sprinkles for the UW Badgers and Door County cherries, yellow sprinkles for Wisconsin cheese, and orange/yellow/red sprinkles for our glorious fall foliage.

Madelyn was one to designate love as her Wisconsin twist during Patisserie Week: “Wisconsin whole milk, butter, eggs and 100% Wisconsin love.” Awww.
