Upside Down Cake

Give your cake a name based on the ingredients and decoration – and tell us about the origin of your recipe.

Mulberry Rhubarb Upside Down Cake – I used the Betty Crocker berry upside down cake and substituted mixed berries for mulberries and rhubarb. Even though I cut back on some sugar, I probably could have cut back more.

Tell us about your proudest moment – or humble failure – in this week’s baking challenge.

In honor of the show, I wanted to make a Union Jack pattern on my cake. I wasn’t sure how it would turn out, but I think it shows up nicely.

Describe how you added a Wisconsin twist to your creation.

I chose local and seasonal mulberries and rhubarb as the stars of my cake.
