Jam Doughnuts

Give your creation a name – and tell us about your recipe.

"We Heart Mike Hall" Doughnuts – Mike Hall was an institution at the law school while we were there, and we made this in honor of Mike's unending love for doughnuts. Mike would never turn down a doughnut, but was always paying it forward by bringing racks of doughnuts in for students to help them through the stress of finals. Our doughnuts are filled with black raspberry rhubarb jam, with a light sugar frosting.

Now that you’ve survived this challenge, what words of wisdom can you share?

When letting cut doughnuts rise, remember to leave space for them to grow! We filled our cookie sheets too full and struggled to get the doughnuts apart when dropping them into the frying pan.

Tell us about how you added a Wisconsin twist.

We filled our doughnuts with black raspberry rhubarb jam, made with locally picked blackcaps and rhubarb.
