The Creme de la Creme of Glacial Gardens!
This is Mary Berry's recipe with only slight changes. The ingredients came primarily from Lara's parents' farm, Glacial Gardens.
What was the biggest surprise during your baking journey? Did you use any unconventional approaches? What did you learn along the way? Tell us about it!
We were making homemade ice cream at the same time we worked on this challenge. We discovered that our two custard recipes were identical, so it was fun to learn that crème caramel is essentially baked ice cream with caramel sauce. Both custards came together well, and both were delicious desserts for hot summer days!
How did you add a Wisconsin twist to your flavors or decoration?
We used local eggs, milk, and maple syrup in our crème caramel.
