Savory Plaited Centerpiece
Give your bread a name and tell us about your recipe.
Muenster Brat Loaf: This loaf is filled with jalapeño bratwurst, muenster cheese and caramelized onions. It is made from white and wheat flours and coated with poppy seeds on the top. The recipe was modified from a King Arthur Flour recipe I found on their website.
Would you describe yourself as a rogue baker, or do you strictly adhere to the recipe?
I’m pretty strict with baking, but quite unfamiliar with breads, so this was a challenge. In modifying the recipe I was not sure what I would end up with.
Tell us about how you added a Wisconsin twist to your bread creation.
This loaf is filled with jalapeño bratwurst from Hoff’s in Brownsville, WI, Muenster cheese from Forgotten Valley in South Wayne, WI and caramelized onions (from the grocery store!).
