Upside Down Cake

Give your cake a name based on the ingredients and decoration – and tell us about the origin of your recipe.

Strawberry Upside Down Cake. I used a recipe I found on I used strawberries because those are my favorite Summer fruit and a bit less traditional.

Tell us about your proudest moment – or humble failure – in this week’s baking challenge.

I definitely was impatient when it came to letting the cake cool, so it didn’t come out of the pan perfectly. Luckily I was able to salvage some strawberries and put it back together.

Describe how you added a Wisconsin twist to your creation.

Strawberries are a locally available fruit, and also a beautiful Badger red color.
