How did this baker brighten our summer?

Katie was a steady in our baking crew — an understated storyteller and a reliable partner. We loved her Chocolate Maple Tea Cakes with both golden and maple syrup, her eye-popping “Strawberry Jammed” Fraisier Cake and her “Upside Down Pineapple (Virgin) Old Fashioned Cake.” We might have added some brandy to wed our love for cake + craft cocktails!

Katie’s “Cranberry Twist” Celebratory Bread for Sweet Dough Week revealed a showy, picturesque swirl akin to edible lacework. It also honored Wisconsin’s cranberry industry. According to the Wisconsin State Cranberry Growers Association our state is the leading producer of cranberries, harvesting more than 60 percent of the country’s crop.
