Drizzle Cake
Give your cake a name based on the ingredients and decoration – and tell us about the origin of your recipe.
Classic Lemony Drizzled Loaf of yum!! After researching recipes on drizzle cakes and not truly seeing the defining distinction in the cake, but finding it in the drizzle, I just decided to use an old stand by Lemon Loaf recipe. The cake batter is too heavy, but so Midwestern, and the drizzle did not soak deep into the cake. The origin of my cake recipe is Taste of Home.
Tell us about your proudest moment – or humble failure – in this week’s baking challenge.
With the weather so hot and the central air not doing its job I thought I would not even try to bake. Well watching the show this evening inspired be, alone with a sunny lower temperature day. I began baking at 7pm Sunday, June 18th. I’d say my cake looks fine, but too afraid to try it. Yikes! I never understand how successful they are with their recipes on the baking show when it is pouring rain just outside the tent!? Sorry not a correct photo as at this time the photo i took will not download onto my computer correctly, but it won’t let me send in my submission without an attachment.
Describe how you added a Wisconsin twist to your creation.
Dairy – I added a 1/4 cup of sour cream to my cake recipe. And quite a bit of butter in the drizzle.
How did you do?
Yikes! And not happy about it.
