Wisconsin Strawberry Star Bread

Now that you’ve survived this challenge, what words of wisdom can you share?

I have made this star-shaped bread for Christmas morning. The red color of the jam for Christmas and the white powdered sugar for snow adds a nice look to the bread. The pattern and twist of the bread look fancy and complicated, but the technique is not too hard if you do each step correctly. I like to make this dough in my bread maker, assemble it the night before, refrigerate and bake it fresh in the morning.

Tell us about how you added a Wisconsin twist.

I used homemade strawberry jam made from strawberries that my daughters and I picked at a strawberry farm in Suamico, WI. The eggs, milk and butter are all from Wisconsin. The red and white colors honor UW Madison Badgers.
