Raspberry Queen of Puddings
What was the biggest surprise during your baking journey? Did you use any unconventional approaches? What did you learn along the way? Tell us about it!
I have made jam, custard and meringue before, but before the show, I had never heard of Queen of Puddings (which puts all three together). My pan was a bit smaller than the recipe called for, so the custard took longer to bake since it was thicker. I enjoyed piping the meringue, and it cooked perfectly. The custard was a little watery at the bottom, but it was cooked nicely.
How did you add a Wisconsin twist to your flavors or decoration?
I made homemade raspberry jam with raspberries from my parents' home in Manitowoc.
