Mixed Fruit Upside Down Cake. This cake uses an upside down cake recipe, which I adjusted to utilize the fruit desired for the design on top.
Tell us about your proudest moment – or humble failure – in this week’s baking challenge.
This week was all about humble failure. I had intended the design on top to be the shape of Wisconsin in strawberries with blueberries for the Great Lakes and pineapple for neighboring states. The fruit all ran together and created blobs of color and no apparent design. Good news is, there are still nine weeks left to create a masterpiece.
Describe how you added a Wisconsin twist to your creation.
The design was supposed to be a picture of our state.
How did you do?
It’s not pretty, but it’s edible.
