Chocolate Spice Twists. I used Donal Skehan's recipe. The dough has cardamom in it, which adds a nice warmth to the bun and complements the chocolate filling.
Now that you’ve survived this challenge, what words of wisdom can you share?
The recipe said to bake them for 15 minutes or until they turned golden brown. I was anxious not to burn them and took the first set out after about 16 minutes, even though they were still quite pale. For the second set (pictured), I left them in until the color was about right, instead of being overly concerned about the time. That method resulted in a more successful bake.
Tell us about how you added a Wisconsin twist.
I used Wisconsin butter and local eggs.
