Eggplant and Sausage Timbale — This is based on a traditional Italian hand-raised pie called a "timbale." The inside is almost like a baked spaghetti – but you use angel hair pasta instead, which bakes nicely. The sauce is my own from last year's tomato harvest and the entire meal tasted of homegrown goodness. It's the perfect dinner to impress your husband on his birthday.

Proudest moment was releasing the pie from the spring-form pan, and it stayed up, was perfectly browned and steaming…. and looked amazing on its display tray.
Describe how you added a Wisconsin twist to your creation.
I used pork sausage that I purchased from my neighbor's farm, Shullsburg Creamery cheeses, and Wollersheim Winery Pinot Noir, both in the pie and to drink with dinner!
