Drizzle Cake

Give your cake a name based on the ingredients and decoration – and tell us about the origin of your recipe.

Used Julia Child’s recipe for Genoise Electrique, and a lemon drizzle I made up.

Tell us about your proudest moment – or humble failure – in this week’s baking challenge.

I did not fold the flour in slowly even though I sifted and folded alternately – it seemed to sink in lumps through the egg mixture.

Describe how you added a Wisconsin twist to your creation.

I grew the lemon (in Wisconsin!) that I used for the zest in the cake, and for the drizzle, in addition to growing the strawberries used for garnish. And what Wisconsin dessert wouldn’t have REAL dairy – whipped cream.
