Achieving the plaid lattice was a very proud moment for me. It took a lot of doing and undoing (and piecing strips of dough back together!) but I was pleased with the end result.
Describe how you added a Wisconsin twist to your creation.
My great grandmother Eva, whom I was named for, always baked with apples. Always! I thought the combination of apples and a lard crust were reflective of my German heritage. I hope she would be proud of my extra efforts with the latticework. 🙂
