Rosy Peach Tart – a ginger-cinnamon sweet shortcrust, filled with a lemon curd and a ginger-cinnamon créme pat, topped with fresh saucer peaches.
Now that you survived this challenge, what words of wisdom do you have to share?
Heat everything as slowly as possible. The curd and the creme pat can both curdle so easily and end up turning to scrambled egg if you’re not careful. This one also took me two tries. As I was spreading the créme pat on the first take, the whole thing toppled off the counter and I had to start again. Make sure there’s space to work!
Tell us about how you added a Wisconsin twist.
The honey, butter and eggs were all from our local farmers’ market, and the saucer peaches were a gift from a fellow Wisconsinite. Love to share food with our neighbors!
