Strawberry Moon Braided Bread

Would you describe yourself as a rogue baker, or do you strictly adhere to the recipe?

I fall somewhere in between…I want to learn how a recipe works and then I love to "adjust" it. The recipe is really just a guideline.

Tell us about how you added a Wisconsin twist to your bread creation.

I made this loaf while the strawberry moon was rising over Wisconsin. Hence I was inspired to add strawberry jam enclosed inside each strand. This gives the loaf a nice stripe of sweet "Badger Red" throughout the bread. Fresh eggs from a neighboring farm and honey from our apiary add more Wisconsin touches.
