How did this baker brighten our summer?
Doreen routinely tried challenging and professional baking techniques for the first time with gusto! We loved and came to keep an eye out for her signature polka dot plate on which she shared her sweet sensations, and the occasional fuchsia or dream-like purple platter holding her bigger bakes.

It seems like it’s Game Day everyday in Wisconsin right now with Badger & Packer football season in full swing and the Milwaukee Brewers competing against the Los Angeles Dodgers in the 2018 World Series! So we’re particularly fond of Doreen’s “Game Day Snack” — a meat and cheese platter offering her made-from-scratch crackers/crisps shaped into footballs and flying “W’s.”

This frustrated, single line written by Doreen about her beleaguered “Layered Chocolate Torte” in Week 4 made us chuckle. We think it’s a phrase fitting for a children’s book about soup! “Everything was soupy – the mousse filling and the torte.”
