Give your dessert a clever name – and tell us about your recipe.

Cherry Apple Strudel. I found a recipe that used dried cherries soaked in brandy with fresh apples.

What was the biggest surprise during your baking journey? Did you use any unconventional approaches? What did you learn along the way? Tell us about it!

I was intimidated by this challenge at first, but just took it one step at a time.

How did you add a Wisconsin twist to your flavors or decoration?

I used dried Door County cherries in the filling. Soaking them in brandy gave them a brandy old fashioned feel, which is SO Wisconsin. I also used local butter. The cinnamon and nutmeg I used are from The Spice House in Milwaukee, a local spice shop.
