Tell us about your proudest moment – or humble failure – in this week’s baking challenge.

I had difficulty with the dough for the hand-raised pies. I didn't realize it was a stiffer, drier dough, but as I made each one . . . I got better.

Describe how you added a Wisconsin twist to your creation.

I chose Cornish hand-raised pies for the rich ethnicity they represent in Wisconsin's immigration history. I also added a big "W" for my last name and, of course, for Wisconsin!
