Mysteries, international dramas and binge-worthy new seasons are coming to PBS Passport this fall. From familiar detectives to intriguing new characters and stories, September and October bring a packed lineup of premieres and returning favorites. Bergerac

Binge season 1 now

Bergerac is a broken man, battling his demons and on leave after the death of his wife. Toby Whithouse creates this modern reimagining of iconic Jersey-set detective series starring Damien Molony (The Split, Brassic) as Detective Jim Bergerac.

Professor T

Binge season 5 now

Jasper and Helena test their fragile spark at a secluded spa, but an “accidental” death rekindles his instincts and threatens their new romance. Jasper is soon confronted by personal turmoil that clouds his judgment and shakes his focus while the team faces darker, twisting cases. With Maiya in the lead, Chloe grows bolder and Dan’s new romance threatens to destroy him.

Marble Hall Murders on Masterpiece

Binge the entire series beginning Sept. 6

Susan Ryeland finds herself involved in another baffling murder. Returning to England, she is reluctantly drawn into a new Atticus Pünd mystery, this time written by a new, young writer. “Pünd’s Last Case” is a story set in 1955, in an exotic villa in Corfu – but the identity of a real killer is hidden in the book once again. The literary detective Atticus Pünd returns to help Susan unravel the real-life mystery.

Marble Hall Murders on Masterpiece is the third and final series in the Susan Ryeland series. Stream the two previous Masterpiece series – Magpie Murders and Moonflower Murders – now. 

The Marlow Murder Club on Masterpiece

Binge season 3 beginning Sept. 6

Now an established part of newly promoted DI Tanika Malik’s crime-solving team, retired archaeologist Judith, dog walker Suzie and vicar’s wife Becks are back and bringing their unconventional methods to a string of high-profile murders.

Paradise

Binge season 12 beginning Sept. 18

As Umberto uses Vittorio’s debt to tighten his grip on Paradise, Marta and Vittorio risk everything to save the store. Amid Christmas hopes, family tensions and secret affairs, the Veneri rally together, while a precious painting may offer the last chance to stop the great department store from falling into ruin. In Italian with English subtitles.

Trespasses

Binge the entire series beginning Sept. 20

Cushla is a young Catholic schoolteacher whose life in 1975 Northern Ireland is shadowed by the Troubles. She meets and falls for Michael – an older, married Protestant barrister. Their affair is intoxicating and dangerous. As the forbidden love between Cushla and Michael deepens, violence looms and tensions rise. Cushla is pulled between duty and desire, family and freedom.

Maigret on Masterpiece

Binge season 1 now before the new season premieres Oct. 18

In season two, chief inspector Maigret and his team investigate a series of complex crimes. Maigret’s unique brand of justice exposes him to the critical eye of his mentor, police director Xavier Guichard. He decides that Maigret needs to be taught a lesson and deliberately weakens his team. With pressure mounting, Maigret is forced to make a choice between his personal life and his career.

The Gold on Masterpiece

Binge season 2 beginning Oct. 18

Following the conviction of some of those involved in the theft and handling of the Brink’s-Mat gold, the police realized that those criminals only ever had half of the gold. Hugh Bonneville returns alongside Jack Lowden and Dominic Cooper as season two explores what happened to the other half, and the criminal fortune it created.

As the police investigation continues, it becomes a tense, high-stakes journey into international money laundering and organized crime. The Brink’s-Mat Task Force embark on a series of dramatic manhunts as they desperately try to solve the longest and most expensive investigation in the history of the Metropolitan Police.
