Temps may be cooling down but the drama is heating up with a fresh lineup of viewer favorites this October on PBS Wisconsin! Enjoy cozy mysteries from the Cotswolds to the Caribbean, rock to the beat of musical newcomers and legends alike and enjoy adventures of the culinary and Wisconsin kind.

Father Brown

A priest in white robes and a gold stole stands at the front of a church staring at the churchgoers with a serious expression.

Season 12 premieres 7 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 4

The quaint Cotswolds are abuzz with dastardly intrigue. Father Brown’s new ally is a playwright priest who’s written the perfect murder. But is art imitating death? There’s medieval murder at a battle re-enactment, a new nemesis lurking in the shadows and an old one who’s not quite as we remember him. And there are wedding bells for Chief Inspector Sullivan – until the secret is out that he’s not the real sleuth of the parish.

Death in Paradise

Season 14 premieres 7:45 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 4

There’s a stranger in paradise – a new detective with a dazzling assortment of outlandish puzzles to solve. Don Gilet joins the sun-soaked crime drama as DI Wilson, a detective with a very personal reason for being on Saint Marie but a serious lack of interpersonal skills. His sleuthing is quickly put to the test though in the case of the three Santa Clauses found dead under almost impossible circumstances, a murder on a zipline and a “rum” case of poisoning. But Wilson also has a mystery of his own to solve – one that’s very close to home.

Austin City Limits

Season 51 premieres 11 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 5

Austin City Limits presents an all-star slate of highly-anticipated debuts and callbacks, including FINNEAS as the season opener and multiple 2025 Grammy nominees.

Wisconsin Life

Season 12 premieres 7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 9

Celebrate Wisconsin’s people and places with host Angela Fitzgerald. Learn something new, meet someone unexpected – like Tanzanian safari leader Ombeni “Ben” Pallangyo (above), whose tours of East African locales inspired him to open Ben’s African and Mediterranean Cuisine in Stoughton.

Pati’s Mexican Table

Season 14 premieres 2:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 18

Chef, author and award-winning host Pati Jinich invites viewers to take a deep dive into Mexico’s rich culture as she returns to her hometown of Mexico City. While there, she explores a variety of local attractions and delicacies while soaking in the region’s traditional flavors. From its beautiful traditions to its modern innovations, season 14 is a love letter to the city that shaped her – celebrating its unique magic and the way its past and present are deeply intertwined.

Nature

Season 44 premieres 7 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 22

Forty-four years on, Nature continues to be the premier voice for the natural world, an essential lens on the creatures, great and small, that sustain us all on our living planet.
