The Forsytes on Masterpiece

Premieres 8 p.m. Sunday, March 22

Desire, ambition and betrayal simmer at the heart of this sumptuous costume drama. The Forsytes chronicles the lives, loves, trials and triumphs of a wealthy Victorian era stockbroking family, whose generations find themselves torn between tradition and self-sacrifice, personal happiness and the pursuit of love.

The Count of Monte Cristo on Masterpiece

Premieres 9 p.m. Sunday, March 22

Edmond Dantes (Sam Claflin), a sailor falsely accused of treason, is imprisoned in the Château d’If off Marseille. After escaping, and adopting the identity of the Count of Monte Cristo, he plans revenge against those who wrongly accused him. Also featuring Jeremy Irons, this sweeping adaptation brings to life the literary classic written by Alexandre Dumas.
