‘Arthur’s First Day’ Special Premieres Sept. 6 – Vote for a School Mascot!

PBS KIDS invites you to celebrate the start of another school year with our favorite animated aardvark! The hour-long special Arthur’s First Day premieres at 7:30 a.m. Monday, Sept. 6 on PBS Wisconsin and at 7 a.m. on PBS Wisconsin PBS KIDS 24/7 (PBS Wisconsin-4).
It’s finally the first day of fourth grade, and Arthur and his friends couldn’t be more excited! But (gasp!) Arthur and Buster find out they’re in different classes! While Buster makes a new friend and begins a mysterious adventure around the school, Arthur starts forming a new friendship of his own and worries he may be losing his best friend. Meanwhile, D.W. and her best friend Emily are starting their very first day of kindergarten! When Emily starts having the worst first day ever, it’s up to her Big Buddy Muffy to show her the ropes of her new school.
Kids can also play along with the new “Back to School” game launching Friday, Sept. 3 as “Game of the Day” in the PBS KIDS Games App! Arthur has new responsibilities helping Mr. Ratburn and making sure the kindergarteners have a smooth transition to their new school. Take care of classroom chores, hand out invitations, retrieve library books and help everyone navigate the busy cafeteria. Along the way, collect decorations for the First Day Dance. Take it from Mr. Ratburn: School is the best place to have fun!
And, voting is now open for Lakewood Elementary School’s first mascot! Kids are invited to go online to pbskids.org/arthur through Sept. 6 to mark their ballot. A mascot winner will be revealed Friday, Sept. 10 at 11 a.m.
