WPT Reports Successful 35th-Annual Auction Fundraiser

Organizers of the 35th-annual WPT Auction, which aired Tuesday, June 2 through Sunday, June 6 on Wisconsin Public Television (WPT) report a successful fundraising event due to statewide community involvement and support. The WPT Auction generated nearly $305,000 to help fund WPT's programming outreach projects and events that serve to enrich the entire Wisconsin community. Carol Schauer of Minocqua is the winner of the 2010 WPT Auction raffle. "We are grateful to so many people who help make the WPT Auction possible," said Ben White, Auction manager. "The event would never be possible without the involvement of numerous volunteers, artists, individual and business donors, and business underwriters, as well as the viewers who bid in support of public broadcasting." The WPT Auction is sponsored by Friends of WPT, the nonprofit fundraising arm for WPT. WPT is a service of the Educational Communications Board and University of Wisconsin-Extension. Wisconsin Public Television is a place to grow through learning on WHA-TV/Madison; WPNE-TV/Green Bay; WHRM-TV/Wausau; WLEF-TV/Park Falls; WHLA-TV/La Crosse; and WHWC-TV/Menomonie-Eau Claire.
