County Exec. Paul Farrow:
We start every morning with a breakfast. This morning we actually had Dr. Ben Carson come in and talk to the delegation. Yesterday we had Newt Gingrich come in and talk to us. So the party lines up one solid speaker for each of the mornings, and that also gives us the information, kinda the rundown for the day. Yesterday was a full day with everything we had to do. Today is a little more typical, where the afternoon is free. You get to go to the convention experience. And for me it was just walking around, talking to the other delegates from across the country, just finding out their stories, what brought 'em here, and the excitement that we're feeling.
Steven Potter:
Tell us about the energy on the floor of the convention during convention night. What is it like? What's the camaraderie like?
County Exec. Paul Farrow:
It is a lot of fun. When you talk about the energy that you get from different delegations, really is kind of exciting. Last night when our former President Trump came out, the place just went crazy. And so it was really neat to see that level of energy. A lot of conversations about what's happened in the last 72 hours with him being shot. But I think the resonation, they're talking about bringing unity for the party, what we're hearing on the floor is just that. People want to unify, get behind our candidate now, and get him across the finish line in November. So it's been a lot of fun.
Steven Potter:
From a delegate's perspective, what would make a successful convention?
County Exec. Paul Farrow:
I think it's already successful. You know, when you think about it from the delegate perspective, nominating our presidential candidate, getting to hear him on Thursday night, I think, is gonna be fantastic. You know, when you think about our vice presidential candidate, we'll hear him tomorrow night. Those are going to be pretty exciting speeches and set the groundwork for us moving forward. And what we've talked about in our delegate meetings is we've got to take this energy now and we've got to move across the entire state of Wisconsin to get us across the finish line in November.
