The cake itself turned out great. I used my go-to white cake recipe, but added watermelon juice for extra taste (turns out watermelon juice doesn’t have enough PUNCH to come through in a cake. And then there’s the failure of my lovely pink hearts as the hidden surprise: they all floated to the top of the batter and lost that heart shape. So, my hidden surprise is the tiny chocolate chips, which represent watermelon seeds.
Describe how you added a Wisconsin twist to your creation.
My Wisconson twist is imagining summer in Wisconsin, using free-range eggs from my neighbor and our own Wisconsin honey from our apiary.
