On this edition of Teen Connection, a panel of teens and adult experts will discuss issues and situations faced by lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender teens in Wisconsin.

The program’s panel discussion will focus on solutions to challenges faced everyday by LGBT teens in Wisconsin schools. Topics that will be discussed include bullying, violence, acceptance, support, safety and other concerns.

The panel will feature Samantha Troemel from Family Services of Northeast Wisconsin – a nonprofit human services agency that offers assistance to children and teens – and Kathy Flores, the Diversity Coordinator for the City of Appleton. Six students will also appear on the panel to discuss their experiences and the situations they’ve observed in school and at home.

The program will also feature special reports on LGBT youth support programs offered byHarmony Café in Green Bay and Appleton. The organization, which is a program ofGoodwill of North Central Wisconsin, offers unique and empowering programs aimed at youth leadership development, social networking community outreach, advocacy and family equality.
