Hey Originauts!
So you can probably guess from the title of this video that Im coming to you with some sad news.
Unfortunately our 3rd season will be the final season of Origin of Everything.
For the past 3 and a half years weve explored new history and challenged our assumptions about our everyday life.
Its been my absolute pleasure and privilege to bring you these videos along with our whole team.
Origin is largely funded by public media and sadly PBS cant renew every show it launches.
Id like to especially thank our Patrons, whose support has allowed us to continue making videos over the years.
Were winding down the Patreon page for Origin today, as well.
Id like to thank our audience of delightful history nerds.
Whether you watched a video, reshared it, engaged in the comments section or wrote us fan mail, we appreciate all of your support and dedication to the channel.
Although we wont be making any new videos, the Youtube channel and all of our social media (which includes our Facebook page, our Instagram account and our Twitter account) will remain online so people can continue to enjoy and share Origin content for years to come.
Now although this is the end of Origin, I hope it wont be the last time Im able to make new and exciting content for you guys.
If youd like to get updates on what Im working on next, feel free to follow me on Twitter @quirkyprofessor.
Im kind of a throwback since Im new to Twitter (I guess it comes from being a historian?)
but I promise to keep the twitter account up to date so that I can keep in touch with all of you beautiful people.
And lastly Id like to thank PBS and all of the producers, writers, animators, graphic designers, editors and directors who have worked on Origin over the years.
Although Im the face you see the most often here on the channel, the work that went into making Origin of Everything has truly been a team effort.
So thank you all and Ill hopefully see you soon!
Wishing you, for the last time, Peace Love and Learning.
