On the new program, Producer, Host and Master Gardener Shelley Ryan and her guests explore an international garden on the banks of the Mississippi River in La Crosse. Other program segments explore a secret garden in Alma, unusual plants originating from Africa and Egyptian plants thriving in Sturgeon Bay.  At the Riverside International Friendship Gardens in La Crosse, Ryan visits with Marilyn Rebarchek and travels through gardens inspired by China, Germany and Russia. In Alma, Dan Kordiak offers a tour of the Hotel de Ville's secret gardens, which were inspired by treasures in the South of France. A visit with Dan Mahr, a past president of the Cactus and Succulent Society of America, in Sun Prairie uncovers the unique and strange-looking group of Fat Plants, which hail from origins in Madagascar, Africa and Mexico. Ryan also visits with Lisa Jeansonne in Sturgeon Bay to learn about Egyptian lotus plants, which thrive in Wisconsin, but also have the potential to become invasive.
