For the past 30 years, Hackett has been informing and entertaining WPT viewers. As he heads into retirement, In Wisconsin celebrates his contributions to WPT with a new report on the demolition of the Badger Army Ammunition Plant in Sauk County and several memorable reports from the past.   The newsmagazine, hosted by Patty Loew airs 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 11 on WPT and is available in high definition. WPT will encore the program at 10:30 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 14. The program also will air at 11:30 a.m. on Milwaukee's MPTV and on WDSE-TV in Duluth at 4 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 14.  Hackett takes viewers inside the demolition of the Badger Army Ammunition Plant in Sauk County and looks at the tough task of dismantling hundreds of buildings still packed with explosive material. Then, In Wisconsin delves into the video archives for a look at Hackett's very first report chronicling the mortgage choices in 1980 when interest rates were at 15 percent. Another archival Hackett report takes viewers on a road trip through Western Wisconsin in search of answers. A check of highway signs along I-94 showed that somewhere between Eau Claire and Madison six miles disappeared and on the road from Westby to Viroqua another 5 miles vanished. Hackett attempts to solve the mystery of the missing miles. Hackett took on another mystery in April 1992 when a national tabloid's headlines confirmed the sighting of a "wolfman" in Walworth County. The story unfolded as he tracked down residents who were quoted in the tabloid to document the story of a hairy man-like creature lurking around Elkhorn. This episode's video postcard features Florence County, the home of one of Wisconsin's original wild rivers.
