Children and their caregivers are invited to attend Wisconsin Public Television's PBS Kids Get Up and Go! Day 10 a.m. to noon Friday, Aug. 1. This fun-filled, free event encourages children to live healthy and active lives.
With locations across the state, the family-friendly events will feature music, dancing, favorite PBS Kids characters, hands-on activities and crafts, community organizations and more. Get Up and Go! Day will also be broadcast live on WPT.
Families, day care groups and other childcare organizations are welcome to attend.
This year's statewide Get Up and Go! Day locations are:
Kohl Center Plaza
601 W. Dayton St.
Special appearances by PBS Kids host Miss Rosa and Peg + Cat.
Musical performance by PBS Kids host Mr. Steve.La Crosse (Three locations)
Main Library, 800 Main St.
North Community Library, 1552 Kane St.
South Community Library 1307 S. 16 St.
Special appearance by Curious George at the North Community Library branch.
Eau Claire
400 Eau Claire Street
Special appearance by Clifford the Big Red Dog.
225 N. Oneida Street
Special appearance by The Cat in the Hat.
Families are invited to join all their PBS Kids friends at one of the above locations, or watch live on WPT. Attendees and viewers are encouraged to share pictures of how your family celebrates the Get Up and Go! spirit all year long on Facebook, Twitter or Instagram using the hash tag #WPTGetUpandGo.
